Charles (Chuck) Wilson and Mary Ann White were married in August 1964 at a church in Washington, D.C. Even before they were married, they had contacts with the new congregation in Bowie because many of the first members came from the 16th Street Church. In early 1965, they moved to Bowie and became active in the church. After a short period, Chuck began to the lead the singing ministry, and would continue to lead the ministry for over 30 years. He was made a Deacon in the 1970s and an Elder in the 1980s. He has been actively teaching in the small group ministry from the beginning and the nursing home ministry as well. At present, he is a part of a group of Bowie ministers and church leaders called, ‘Turn on the Light, Bowie.’

His higher education came from Harding University and Georgetown University, with graduate work from National Graduate University. However, Chuck’s highest work has been with his family (three children and eight grandchildren) and especially his dedication to the work of Christ and the Church family here at Bowie.
