Our Church Worships without Instruments
Churches of Christ embrace a beautiful and unique form of worship through a cappella singing. A cappella is a style of music where a group of singers perform without instruments. The term comes from the Italian phrase meaning "in the church style." We believe that when we come together to lift our voices in harmony, we are following the example set in the New Testament. The scriptures do not explicitly mention the use of instruments in worship, so we focus on the power of the human voice to praise God.
This is an act of faith that aligns with the spirit of Ephesians 5:19, which encourages us to "address one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody to the Lord with your heart" (ESV). When we sing in four-part harmony, we fulfill this scripture in a special way. We create an atmosphere where everyone has a chance to contribute to the worship experience, bringing their voices together in unity. There is something incredibly beautiful and powerful about singing without instruments, and we believe it helps us focus on the words we are singing and the connection we have with one another and with God.

We encourage you to join with us and share your voice in this unique and sacred way—adding to the richness of our worship experience. The simplicity of singing without instruments highlights the purity and depth of our collective praise. It’s a beautiful expression of worship, and we’re excited to invite you to be part of it.
