The Bowie Church of Christ believes:

 

  • There is one God in heaven who created all things, and who is revealed as the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Genesis 1, John 1:1-18).

 

  • The Bible teaches that a person receives God’s saving grace by putting faith in Christ, repenting of
    sin, confessing Christ, and being immersed or baptized into Christ. (Acts 2:36-41, Romans 10:9-10,
    Romans 6:1-7).

 

  • We believe Christians demonstrate unity and love for one another as a testimony of our love for
    God. (John 13:34-35, John 17:20-21).

  • The Bible is God’s inspired word and the standard for our faith and conduct. (2 Timothy 3:16-17, John 12:48).

 

  • The Holy Spirit dwells in each believer as a result of their obedience to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
    (Acts 5:32, Acts 2:38)

 

  • We believe the Bible demonstrates that women and men play significant roles in the building up the
    Church and in bringing people to Christ. (Galatians 3:28, Romans 16:1-4).

  • Jesus Christ is the Son of God, whose death and resurrection conquered death, brought the
    forgiveness of sins, and by this grace we can be saved. (I Corinthians 15:1-8, Romans 3:21-26).

  • The Church is the body of Christ, a community of believers who represent Him in word and deed. In this we will encourage one another and bring many disciples to Christ. (Matthew 28:18-20,
    Ephesians 1:22-23).
